Household hazardous waste is unwanted household products labeled as flammable, toxic, corrosive, or reactive. Common products include auto fluids, batteries, electronics, fluorescent and LED lightbulbs, garden chemicals, household cleaners, paint, and many other products that require proper disposal to prevent harm to humans and the environment.​ ​​

**Safety Guidelines**

• For the safety and well being of the public and our staff, have all of the waste in the rear of the vehicle and not in the passenger areas. For regular vehicles place the waste in the trunk, for trucks place the waste in the bed and for SUVs/hatchbacks place the waste at the rear of the vehicle.

The Santa Clara County Household Hazardous Waste Program is funded by participating cities and the County of Santa Clara. (Out-of-County HHW programs)

Businesses: Businesses that generate small quantities of hazardous waste may qualify to use the County's Very Small Quantity Generator (VSQG) program. For more information, click here. To schedule an appointment for waste drop off please call (800) 207-8222.
